| Broken Branches, Fallen Fruit is a 30 minute documentary about forces driving immigration among the Tzotzil Mayan people of highland Chiapas, Mexico's Southernmost, poorest and most indigenous state. The documentary looks at how immigration as a solution to poverty plays out in the family between generations and genders. It is part of a 2 disc DVD which also contains a series of mini-documentaries about pressures created by NAFTA and neo-liberal economics as drivers of immigration, and about cooperatives and other attempts at economic solutions by the people of the highlands. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
